01. Lambang huruf dan Singkatan

LAMBANG HURUF DAN SINGKATAN
Lambang huruf meskipun seringkali singkatan,tetapi diantara keduanya terdapat perbedaan.Lambang huruf mewakili suatu satuan tertentu,sedangkan singkatan adalah huruf atau serangkaian huruf yang mewakili satu kata atau serangkaian kata tertentu.

Kepanjangan dari suatu singkatan dapat berbeda tergantung bahasa yang dipakai ,tetapi lambang huruf memiliki pengertian yang dapat diterima oleh hampir semua Negara.Lambang huruf biasanya ditulis dalam huruf kecil,kecuali jika lambang tersebut diambil dari nama seseorang.Sedangkan singkatan hampir selalu ditulis dalam huruf besar (capital).Perbedaan ini sangat penting untuk menghindari salah pengertian.
